Saturday, May 31 is the kick off for Science In The Schools + Project Astro at Beautiful Lake Tahoe's Burnt Cedar Beach. For details please contact syzygy5@hotmail.com Astronomy Day celebration for Northern Nevada and the Western Nevada Astronomical Society is slated for Carson City at the Community College.Thu May will be a fund raiser with Astronaut Buzz Aldrin and tours of the new observatory. Call 775-445-3240. Friday, May 16 will feature ribbon-cutting at the observatory, visits by students, a reception and observing. Sat May 17 from noon til 9 the public is invited to the newly dedicated observatory. A 2 PM lecture by USC researcher Dr Gerri Peters is scheduled.
